About Melanie James

For more than 30 years, Melanie has been rooted in the real estate world — a journey that has spanned residential sales, property management, construction and real estate accounting, and a broad knowledge of the coastal communities she has called home for 40 years.

Melanie’s career has also intersected with meaningful community leadership where she previously served as Executive Director of Heavenly Stock, a children’s clothing ministry, and later held a director role with Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry (WARM), helping repair homes and strengthen neighborhoods throughout the region. She continues to serve her community today as Program Director with Lump to Laughter, walking alongside women facing breast and ovarian cancer. Her real estate practice is fueled by her genuine love of serving others. Clients value her patience, warmth, history of problem-solving, and her ability to navigate transactions with both compassion and competence.

Melanie is a devoted mother and finds her greatest joy in family, faith, and the simple coastal pleasures of sea breezes and sand under her feet. Her deep roots in Wilmington — and her enduring love for its beaches, families, and communities — are at the heart of how she works and how she lives.
